You're doing God's work here.

I moved to SF as a liberal and left as a hardcore conservative. SF is the manifestation of liberal policies and leadership. And it obviously sucks and I wanted nothing to do with that neurotic dysfunctionality. Democrats control all branches of government at the state and local level with plenty of funding so they have no excuse. Ultimately that vision wasn't for me.

I look forward to reading this new book. I am sure that it will nail the issues with progressive governance that have been plaguing our cities for many decades. I appreciate your activities on energy, climate and the environment.

But Mikey, c'mon man, you said in your last post: "I have been a Democrat and progressive for all of my adult life. I voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. I support single-payer health care, high progressive taxes, and subsidized housing. I have never voted for a Republican." Do you understand the concept that "elections have consequences"? You vote for the people that cause the problems and then you write books decrying the lunacy.

Now you can vote for whomever you want. But I suggest that saying in this Substack that you blindly vote for the most progressive candidate on the ballot as long as he's not a Republican does not enhance your credibility amongst those of us who have a more nuanced view of voting.
